  • What type of breakfast is served?
    Enjoy the selection at the continental buffet.
  • When is breakfast served?
    From 7 am to 10 am Monday to Friday, and 7 am to 11 am at weekends.
  • Can I get a gluten-free breakfast?
    Yes, we are happy to serve gluten-free products, too. Please let us know your dietary requirements at check-in so we can prepare everything for you.
  • Where can I park?
    As we are very centrally located, we do not have our own parking spaces. We recommend the City-West multi-storey car park, which is only a few minutes’ walk from our hotel (CHF 28 per day). For more information: parking-bern.ch
    Alternatively: Purchase a one-day parking card (CHF 16) from Reception. It allows you to park in all designated zones in the city of Bern where a parking disc is compulsory.
  • Am I entitled to a discount for the public car park?
    No, there are no discounts available for hotel guests.
  • Can I park my bicycle at your hotel?
    Yes. Our hotel guests can use the bike stand inside the premises (subject to availability).
  • How far is the hotel from the main railway station?
    2 minutes on foot from the ‘Welle’ exit; 5 minutes on foot from the main station building.
  • Can I pay for my stay in cash or by credit card?
    We accept cash as well as card payments (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Postcard, Maestro, V-Pay, Diner, JBC, Union Pay, Twint).
  • Can I store my luggage with you?
    Yes. You are welcome to use our luggage lockers before you check in or after checking out.
  • Can I check in after 9 pm?
    Yes, we are happy to organise a self-check-in after 9 pm on request.
  • Are dogs allowed in the hotel?
    Yes, dogs are welcome in our Hotel. There is a charge of CHF 10 per dog per day.
  • Do you have family rooms?
    Yes, the Hotel National has one triple room and two four-bedded rooms.
  • Do the rooms have air conditioning?
    No, the rooms are not equipped with air conditioning. Due to the structural features and peculiarities of our historic premises it would be very difficult to retrofit A/C.
  • Are there kettles in the rooms?
    Yes, each room has its own kettle.
  • Is there free Wi-Fi?
    Yes, you can use the Wi-Fi free of charge in all areas of the hotel.
